Post and Insurance Age content director Jonathan Swift has written and commented about the insurance industry since 1998. He has appeared on television speaking about topics as diverse as the insurance implications of Michael Jackson's death to the consequences of consolidation on motor premiums; and is a past winner of the British Insurance Brokers' Association journalist of the year and Association of British Insurers general insurance trade journalist prizes.
Jonathan has chaired/ hosted over 100 insurance events from roundtables involving a small specially invited audience, to addressing over 2000 people at the British Insurance Awards at the Royal Albert Hall. He is listed as a top 50 insurtech influencer by Insurtech News and presently coordinates the All Party Parliamentary Group for Insurance and Financial Services.

Before joining the Insurance industry, Ghanshyam worked for technology firms for a number of years. Over the last 15 years, he has performed various roles in Insurance – covering product management, technical architecture, development management and leading the delivery teams.
He’s currently leading the Blockchain theme for AXA XL’s Global Technology (Digital) area.
Ghanshyam holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science. Being a technologist at heart, he focuses on leveraging right tech to address business problems.
He’s a Blockchain evangelist and passionate about this technology & the potential value it could bring to the Insurance industry.

Tom Helm

Willis Towers Watson
Tom leads Willis Towers Watson’s Claims Consulting practice for EMEA, advising insurance clients both at strategic and tactical levels.
He has 26 years’ experience in claims, in both consulting and senior claims management roles for commercial and personal lines insurers. This has included leading large scale, multi-site, operational and technical claims functions. He has also led major operational and technological change programmes in claims, including the implementation of Guidewire’s claims handling platform ClaimCentre.
Tom advises C-suite and claims leadership teams on the development of their claims strategy helping them optimise their operational and technical claims performance and providing guidance on the use of technology, analytics and international best practice in claims.
Within Willis Towers Watson’s Insurance Consulting and Technology business Tom leads a team of experienced claims specialists; the team have a strong track record of providing powerful new insights and delivering substantial financial savings and service improvements in insurers claims functions. The team are also driving innovation in claims using predictive analytics, machine learning and Willis Towers Watson’s cutting-edge technology to help clients deliver intelligent automation and decision support in their claims functions.

Scott leads the Vesuvio Labs Advanced Technologies development effort, integrating the latest technologies of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, distributed ledger and dynamic workflows into insurtech.
Bringing over 25 years of experience, from automation engineer, KPMG management consultant and co-founder of an Analytics Company, his focus has been on helping organisations dramatically improve efficiency and competitiveness. Scott is passionate about making a positive impact on people’s lives and the workplace, by using the technology to build better systems, automate processes, and empower people to do things better.
Scott is currently working on ML, AI and Claims Management projects for a number of clients and partners organisations who are working to dramatically change the claims management process.

Gavin has worked in the banking and insurance industry for over 20 years. At PA Consulting he specialised in major IT programmes and subsequently he has worked as Director in IT Service and IT delivery functions. At LVGIG, his teams have delivered a multi-million pound transformation of the direct business and are now working on the next phase of their digital journey.
